I have come to really love skincare products from Dr. Althea. Some context for my review: I'm in my early 50s and have dry, sensitive skin. I also have mild rosacea. As a result, I try to avoid fragrance--whether artificial or natural--in my skincare products, because fragrance is an irritant that can cause a rosacea flare. I also seek to avoid other potential irritants. Dr. Althea products are well-designed for sensitive skin. The products are fragrance-free and, in my experience, are free of other irritants as well. For someone with my skin concerns, this is really important.This is a foaming serum, so it's definitely a different experience from a traditional watery or milky serum. It's lightweight and absorbs quickly. Given my skin issues, I always do a multi-day patch test on my forearm when trying any new product. I did not experience any irritation or sensitivity.Initially, I found this serum to be a little sticky after applying, though that feeling went away after the product was absorbed. However, I think I applied too much (a little bit of this serum goes a long way). When I tested the serum along my cheek and jawbone, I used less and had no stickiness at all.This serum is moisturizing, which surprised me a little given the foaming nature. I think I must subconsciously associate foaming with a cleanser, so it's still surprising to me to apply this to my face and to feel moisturized after. I really appreciate how it leaves my skin feeling very soft and smooth. It also makes my skin look glowy.It's too soon to judge long-term effects (that will take three months at least), but I'm very pleased with the short-term results I'm seeing.

This an amazing toner! It’s really a foam toner/serum, making application possible without a cotton pad at all. I’ve never experienced such interesting consistency. The whole experience is so cool. It really does absorb like a dream.This serum left my skin bouncy and dewy and so soft in the morning. It’s also light weight so it layers really well underneath your heavier night moisturizer. Because of its foam nature, truly not greasy and I think any skin type can use it.The ingredients are so good. There’s bakuchiol, which acts like a retinoid. There’s also allantoin, corn and root extracts. It’s scent free and non irritating.I found it to be brightening and pretty effective in imparting that extra layer of moisture. I think this is really well priced and I found it so cool. Highly recommend!

This unique Korean foaming serum contains an impressive collection of ingredients for hydration, brightening, and soothing, and bakuchiol – a plant based retinol alternative. As an initial matter, while the bubbles in the foam are on the larger side, which might suggest you need to use a lot of the foam, very little is actually needed (which I found out the hard way). When applied, the serum feels very hydrating. Having tried many high quality Korean serums, this serum seemed to take a little longer to absorb than most but that might be a reflection of the excessive amount I applied. One nice thing about this serum is that, once it is absorbed, it does not leave a sticky texture on the skin as do most good serums. I have rosacea and very sensitive skin, and this did not cause an adverse reaction on my skin. However, I would be unlikely to use this this during a rosacea flare up when my skin is highly compromised because the bakuchiol – though a gentle ingredient – can be an irritant. Overall, I consider this to be a high quality serum that is consistent with the other high quality Dr. Althea products I have tried. I consider it to be fairly priced at $22 and would purchase it in the future.

This is the first time I have used a foaming serum/toner, and it was definitely s different experience. It pumps out in a very airy foam which makes it super easy to work with since it doesn't run all over the place. It does feel strange when you apply it and press it into your skin, but after a few tries I got the hang of it. The consistency helps it absorb quickly. It is very moisturizing and does brighten the skin. I found it to be soothing on any redness, and I didn’t have any issues with irritation. Fragrance free, and I love that! It would be five stars except it does stay kind of sticky and my sunscreen seemed to pill on top in some areas. I may have to try to not use a full pump.

This toner is a dream and feels so luxurious to use! My skin can be picky and often toners are simply too harsh for it. But this toner felt really gently and didn’t cause any redness, tightness, or irritation.I love that it has a pump and comes out foamy. This makes it so easy to apply with your hands. I hate using disposable cotton rounds and I don’t have any reusable ones so I always apply toner with my hands. Usually toners are liquid so it doesn’t work as well. But applying this with my hands works perfectly.I have oily skin so sometimes products that are supposed to make your skin look “glowy” tend to make my skin just look greasy. This was a little bit the case with this toner but not nearly as severe as with other glowy products. My skin still looked clean after applying it .Overall, this toner performs like a much more expensive product and I totally recommend it.

I was skeptical about this never having used a Dr. Althea product before. This turned out better than expected. The absorption is fast and is very lightweight. Once it is absorbed, my skin feels soft and not greasy. Also, it is effective in revealing a radiant glow like advertised.

I honestly was not expecting to love this as much as I did and I'm so glad I decided to try it because it truly does work excellently! The bubble toner is extremely refreshing, non-greasy and doesn't leave behind any stickiness or unwanted residue. The consistency is so unique and I've never used a bubble toner before. It feels so light and airy and fully absorbs into the skin effortlessly and very lightweight. I would highly recommend this and I would repurchase.

I have extremely dry skin, so... Even after layering it 5 times right now, it still feels fresh. I haven't experienced any breakouts. It is a thin serum with a toner-like texture, but it lathers up richly, so even a small amount feels like it applies thickly. Because it is a foam, it does not drip and it feels like it penetrates deep into the skin's crevices more precisely. The finish is moisturizing without being sticky, so it smooths out dead skin cells which helps makeup apply well, and gives an inner glow. It's really refreshing and absorbs fast, so I think it will be great to use in the summer if you layer it two or three times without a cream would be enough for a hydrated base for makeup. Since it doesn't feel slippery or oily, I think those with combination skin (oily T-zone, dry cheeks) would love it.

The product is made in Korea, and there are product details in both English and Korean on the package. The serum is water-based and very thin. The bottle has a foaming pump that adds bubbles to the serum to give it an airy foam texture. I found it easy to apply--the foam texture keeps the product from running, and allowed me to massage it into my skin with ease. It feels weightless and absorbs quickly with no sticky residue. Because it is such a thin, watery product, I didn't feel any moisturizing effect. It felt more like a toner than a serum to me. Overall, I think this is a good option if you are looking for a weightless way to add more collagen to your beauty routine.

And as always with this brand, there’s zero fragrance. More the layers more the hydration and didn't feel greasy or heavy on the skin.
